Symetrix（シンメトリックス）のサイトをうろついてみると

せっかく88192を買ったのに資料を入手してなかったので、いろいろ調べてみました。
そしたらADA8824に関して驚愕の事実が。

Lucid 8824, Sonic Solutions and A-232.

The Lucid ADA8824 has two sister hardware versions that were OEM models, the 8824 Sonic Solutions, and the A-232. All 8824 models are no longer in production. If you are considering purchasing a used 8824 ensure that it is the non-OEM production model Lucid ADA8824. The Sonic Solutions model will not run as a stand-alone converter. The A-232, may run stand-alone, but it will be impossible to control the unit settings. Ensure that the unit you are considering purchasing is the production model ADA8824 by noting the 2 MIDI ports on the back panel. Otherwise you may purchase a unit that will not function or will be impossible to configure due to the OEM functionality.

何と書いてあるかというと、
「Lucid8824には、２つの姉妹バージョンとなるOEMモデルがある。Sonic Solutionsモデルと、A232モデルとがある。買うならOEMモデルでないものを選んでください。Sonic Solutionsモデルは単体動作できません。A232モデルは単体動作はできるが、細かな設定ができません。中古で買うならば、OEMモデルではないものを買ってください。識別方法は、リアにあるMIDI端子が存在することを確認してください。うっかりOEMモデルを買うと、もしかすると単独動作しないゴミを買うことになるかも知れないので注意してください」と。
よほど苦情が多かったのか、問い合わせが多いのかでしょうかね。
まぁ、そのOEMモデルばかり選って買った人もここに居ますけど　orz
で、こんな大事な事をなぜ「現行モデルの88192の項目」の中にさりげに書いてあるのか。
Symetrixのサイトは扱う製品が膨大ゆえに非常に見づらいのが良くないですね。
